When it comes to marketing your business, most of the time it can seem like a constant struggle. You might be trying to convince a client why they should work with you and it can feel like pulling teeth.
If you know how, marketing can feel easy and you'll naturally attract your ideal clients.
As a new entrepreneur, the first thing you'll likely want to do to get new clients is to network with potential prospects. This doesn't have to just be offline, but can be online as well.
The challenge I see with most entrepreneurs however, new and experienced, is that they don't know how to effectively talk about their business.
These are the people you meet at a networking event, and when you ask them what they do, they say I'm an "Accountant". Now does that really tell you anything about what the person can do for you or someone you know? No...not so much.
Here is the right way to talk about your business, that will not only tell people what you do, but most importantly how you can help them. This is how you easily attract your ideal clients, without all that pushing and struggle.
Instead of using your title to explain what you do, briefly explain how what you do can benefit someone.
For example, for an interior designer: I help luxury property owners, create a home that reflects everything they love, without going over budget.
For a financial advisor: I help busy corporate professionals, create and manage wealth.
Now, it's your turn.
How can you say what you do in a way that naturally conveys the benefits your clients will experience. And notice, that in the examples above, it identifies who you the service is for.
Your ideal clients will be attracted to you when you focus on the results you provide them, and not the features of what you do. Keep this in mind when you're creating new marketing materials, posting online, and anytime you're talking about your business. Put the focus on the client and you'll see that your ideal clients will be naturally attracted to you.
I've been able to build a business, full of my ideal clients, because I'm very clear about not only who I'm for, but also the results I provide when they work with me.
At the end of the day, clients are interested in what's in it for them. Focusing on benefits and results makes it clear, exactly how you can help them.
